The tether ball chain moves in the swirl of rising heat setting up a ringing of chain on chain that echoes out past the baseball field that will be empty until the relief of early evening that echoes into the subconsciousness of city workers sweating on the road and focused with buddha-like attention on pouring asphalt into pot holes in their last hour of work.
