The Definitive Soapbox, The Poetry Lab, and Cadence Collective are celebrating together! This is not a reading, but a gathering of the poetry communities to party. The Poetry Lab, run by Danielle Mitchell, is a generative poetry workshop that Cadence Collective was essentially seeded from. We’ve been sharing space at Fox Coffee House with The Definitive Soapbox, run by Antonio Appling and co., for well over a year. The three of our communities have been working together under the banner of Long Beach Renaissance with the goal of furthering poetry in Long Beach.
Now more than ever, we need each other. We need connection, communication, and lots of love, so we thought, why not have a party and get to know one another better! Fox has been kind enough to allow us to take over their space for a night of no-poetry with poets. Let’s come together to eat, drink, and maybe even dance a little (or a lot)! There will be food and drinks provided as well as additional items you can buy from Fox. Nothing is required but your beautiful souls to hang out for a bit and show support for what we all love, poetry.
