Cadence Collective turns 3 years old in August! Though we’ve grown in some ways and readjusted in others, we’re proud to have reached our 3rd complete year. Come celebrate with us this month with two dashing poets, Boris Ingles and Elder Zamora (rescheduled from last month). Join your hosts G. Murray Thomas and me, Sarah Thursday, at Fox Coffeehouse on Monday, August 8th at 7 pm. Sign ups for the open reading list go out at 6:45. Arrive early and get a giant, cold smoothie or blended coffee drink. They also serve incredible sweet and savory bakery items.
Both features also have photography included in the first issue of Incandescent Mind, which is going to be released at Fox Coffee House on August 6th!
Boris Salvador Ingles was born and raised in Los Angeles, in the small community of Boyle Heights. He combines poetry and photography, as means for visual and emotional expression. A mixture of humor, rawness, vulnerability and a sense for dark street realism. His poems have appeared in Spectrum, Spectrum 2, Cadence Collective: Year Two Anthology, Then & Now: Conversations With Old Friends and most recently, the Coiled Serpent Anthology.
Elder Zamora is a photographer, writer and publisher based in Southern California. His work has appeared in Soundings Review, Left Hook, Miramar, Curating Los Angeles and elsewhere. He is the editor of Spout Hill Press as well a curator for The San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival. His chapbook, Seaglass, is currently available from Arroyo Seco Press.
