I love my home so much
I buy postcards of the city
And mail them to friends.
Invite them for all occasions,
Remind them that they are in my thoughts,
Show them what I find to be beautiful
And hope they will see it soon.
Hundreds of places sit by waves,
Thousands more have fine sands,
But one is the end of a long road
Before its turn north to green hills
Facing azure blue ocean.
I found this place many years ago
And adopted a view for my heart.
I came back as often as I could
Until the day I knew I was home.
I saw the postcards as more than placards
Of tourist transient conquest.
These are solemn statements
Of peace and sanctuary
Found by one man grateful
He will wander no further.
