he’d probably say
kid don’t waste the effort
on making it big

write what you know
always from the heart

don’t squander your time
writing & rewriting
poems

just
write
drink
fuck

fuck more
drink often
write the truth

if you can
do all three
at once

be happy with the time you have
you never know
when death is rolling near

& don’t be those idiots
who love showing off
a brand new poem
